Climate change has forced migration from the southern states to Washington state, causing an overload on the systems in place. Hospitals, schools, transportation, food, and accommodations are overwhelmed creating a sense of panic. Fear overcomes the local residents as their lifestyle changes with the population influx. Matt Taylor believes what his church tells him: that the end of times is near. He secretly builds a Safe Haven far from the chaos in Olympia, Washington, and eventually tries to convince his family and friends to join him. Anna doesn't agree and wants them to remain in their home, where they can be part of the solution and stay connected with everything and everyone they know.
